Umno Pekan Auditorium New Sound System

Right in the center of Pekan town in Pahang the New Umno Building was built to accommodate the 600 seats auditorium and meeting room and office block. Pekan town also known as Pekan Bandar Diraja has becoming busy with great development and industrial area.

It was here that Artistic Controls was ask to commission the light and sounds system for the auditorium ready for the opening by the PM. The scope of work is to install stage curtain, stage lighting and audio visual system.

For the stage lighting a Zero 88 Jester 24 channel was install as it has proven that Zero 88 desk can work well with less maintenance needed. The luminaries consist of 8 units of 1kw profile, 6 units of Fresnel and 14 units of Parcan with cyclorama for the back drop.

The sound system consists of 4 units of EV 15” fullrange loudspeaker and 18” subwoofer. It works well to throw the sound to the rear of the auditorium. The loudspeaker is powered by EV Klub power amplifier with Behringer as the digital loudspeaker management unit.

We pull 16 microphone points from the stage and hall area to the Yamaha MG24 mixer. This will be enough for speeches and multiple microphone uses like the debate.

The projection is by Sanyo PLC-XU105 a 4500 ANSI Lumens LCD Projector mounted on the fixed bracket to create a 12’ x 12’ images on Draper screen.  In this installation we have to use Belden RGBHV cable for computer input and an Extron switcher to ensure that the signal is not loss for long distance run cable.

The most important in this sound and lights installation for the Umno Pekan Auditorium is to use the most reliable equipment as we wanted to ensure minimum downtime. Anyway the support is coming all the way from KL.

The project was completed in 3 weeks just in time for our new Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib to officially open the Umno building.
