MOF Auditorium Upgrade Stage Curtain And Dimmer System

Ministry of Finance (MOF) office located in Presint 2 Putrajaya recently decided to upgrade the Auditorium stage curtain and stage dimmer and lighting control desk. We have the opportunity to work with them and get the system up and running within the time frame.

As the stage curtain motor system got jammed for some time now and the curtain stay open with some damaged and torn curtain it was not a pleasing scene especially with VIP using the auditorium for the function. The maintenance team got the go ahead from the management within a short time to upgrade both the curtain motor system and stage curtain material. Here they have decided to use the curtain from JC Joel a reputable curtain manufacturer in the UK. JC Joel is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of flame retardant fabrics and flooring for the entertainment and live event industries.

The chosen fabric is plum and flame retardant type which is important considering this the government agency office. The whole process done in the UK like cutting and sewing was done in the UK to maintain the professional look like using small tab hook, sides hemmed and chain at the bottom.

The existing Jands dimmer rack has not been able to dim properly except On and Off have been replaced to ADB Micropack 30 which is 12 x 3kW Digital Dimmer pack x 5 units. For the control desk after considering a few brand the MOF team decided to use the Zero 88 Solution 48 lighting control desk. The choice is simple as they said they wanted to have a reliable brand and easy to operated control desk.

Since the spotlights are still in working condition we just carry out a normal service and change all the bulbs. Some of the spotlights which cannot be turn on can now be lighting up the stage. It is important that the spotlights have regular service to ensure the dust do not accumulate and deteriorate the bulbs and the lenses.

The operator was quite familiar in setting up the scene control and they are quite knowledgeable with the previous desk. Training for the operation of the new desk was easy to make sure they know how to use the submaster mode and the moving head effect function.
