International Islamic University Malaysia IIUM Kuantan Auditorium Installed Stage Curtain

With the renovation done at IIUM Auditorium with upgraded sound system and stage lighting the final part is to install a new set of stage curtain. International Islamic University Malaysia situated in Kuantan is international university offering various courses for undergraduate and postgraduate. With the aggressive upgrading work seen in the surrounding the hall does need a new stage curtain to reflect the new facilities.

After a few proposal were given IIUM chose the motorized festoon stage curtain with 75% fullness and the 375g/m sq curtain weight. The choice was appropriate as the height of the stage was only 5m but the width of the hall is about 20m. The work starts immediately with the installation of the secondary support above the ceiling for the curtain track and pulley system. The motor and gearbox is located in the ceiling with access panel for servicing and maintenance.

Once the color and the materials of the curtain were approved we order the curtain from JC Joels. For many years in our stage curtain installation we work with JC Joels UK to offer various type of material including velvet material for flame retardant curtain to cyclorama cloth for the back drop. We import the curtain directly and sew here locally. The measurement is needed and this is usually done after the curtain track has been installed and the actual height and weight will be measure.

The festoon curtain or Austrian curtain as they were called is supply together with the top masking and side wing curtain. All of these will be the same color matching. For the control panel there is one master panel at the stage side and a remote control panel at the control room. If needed the opening and closing of the curtain can be control via Crestron or AMX control panel. With the wireless remote control can be implemented.

We work closely with the ID Turnkey contractor Ideation Sdn Bhd as they are the ID designer and furniture installer for the senate hall, administration and auditorium staging.
