Matrade Exhibition Centre Superstructure Work Awarded

The new Matrade Exhibition Centre superstructure work has been awarded to Daewoo Engineering and Construction Co Ltd. TTDI KL Metropolis Sdn Bhd a wholly-owned subsidiary of Naza TTDI has awarded the contract of RM555.9 million superstructure works to the South Korean company. The work will commence in October and is expected to be completed by mid 2015.

The exhibition centre which is located at Jalan Duta will have a main exhibition centre, multipurpose hall, auditorium, meeting rooms and display arena. Besides the exhibition centre there will also be a hotel, regional retail centre, residential area and office tower.

The new Matrade Exhibition Centre when finish will have a gross floor space of 1 million sq. ft. will be the country largest exhibition centre. The plan is also aiming for green building index certification.

What will be interesting to see is the exhibition centre will be equip with the latest sound and light and audio-visual equipment. Already there is a huge budget for this kind of system to be built in here using fiber optic and latest equipment.
